Transforming Physical Education and Sports

The Department of Physical Education at Shri Ram College, Muzaffarnagar, organized a national seminar titled "Transforming Physical Education and Sports through Innovation, Health, and Inclusivity." The program was inaugurated by the Chief Speaker, Dr. Pranveer Singh (Associate Professor, Department of Physical Education, Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar), along with distinguished guests: Dr. Gaurav Baliyan (Principal, Government College, Deoband), Dr. Balinder Singh (Head, Department of Physical Education, GMV College, Saharanpur), Dr. Sonali Singh (Associate Professor, Jain Kanya College, Muzaffarnagar), Dr. Shahbaz (Sports Officer, Government College, Govindgarh, Madhya Pradesh), Dr. Prerna Mittal (Principal, Shri Ram College), Dr. Vineet Kumar Sharma (Dean of Academics), and Dr. Pramod Kumar (Head, Department of Physical Education). The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati. Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Speaker, Dr. Pranveer Singh—Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Education at Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar—addressed the topic of his guest lecture: "Transforming Physical Education and Sports through Innovation, Health, and Inclusivity." He stated that the convergence of innovation, health, and inclusivity within physical education and sports represents a holistic approach. This approach fosters physical and mental development and ensures that every individual—regardless of age, ability, or background—can actively participate in sports. The integration of technological and scientific perspectives has completely revolutionized the field of physical education. Through smart and digital technologies—such as fitness trackers, interactive applications, and wearable devices—athletes can now monitor their progress and health metrics in real time. In the context of physical education, "technology" refers to the effective and beneficial utilization of novel communication tools, equipment, techniques, and machinery—developed as a result of advancements and progress in the fields of science and technology—within the educational sphere. On this occasion, Dr. Prerna Mittal, Principal of Shriram College, extended her best wishes to all members of the Department of Physical Education and expressed hope that the department would continue to organize such programs in the future, thereby aiding in the intellectual enrichment of the students. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vineet Kumar Sharma, Dean of Academics at Shriram College, congratulated all the faculty members of the Department of Physical Education. He remarked that in today's modern era, technology plays a significant role in every field—and the realm of physical education is certainly no exception. He noted that students from the Department of Physical Education participate in university-level competitions every year, consistently delivering high-caliber performances and bringing laurels to the college. On this occasion, Pramod Kumar, Head of the Department of Physical Education, stated that the modern era has witnessed significant innovation in sports, and that active participation in sports offers immense benefits to students, leading to an enhancement of both their physical and mental capabilities. During the event, Pramod Kumar, Head of the Department of Physical Education, presented a bouquet to the keynote speaker, Dr. Pranveer Singh, while other guests were welcomed with floral bouquets. At the conclusion of the program, Bhupendra Kumar, a faculty member in the Department of Physical Education, proposed the vote of thanks. He expressed his deep gratitude to the keynote speaker, Dr. Pranveer Singh, and extended his appreciation to all his fellow faculty members. The program was successfully anchored by faculty member Tarun Kumar.
