Future Prospects

With education becoming an important factor responsible for the development of a country, it has become a sector for a huge number of jobs. From recent research data, it was found that there are approximately 1.3 million schools in India. Thus, there is a lot of scope in this sector. And to enter this sector, a B.Ed. degree is a must. Under the RTE Act, it has been made compulsory to have B.Ed. degree to become a teacher. It also helps in getting appointed as a teacher in both Government and public schools. This course helps one to learn the methodologies involved in the teaching profession. It consists of the training process that will make a person a very efficient teacher.

About the Course

National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) is the governing body of BEd that focuses on teacher's education, classroom program, syllabus design, book design, etc. Every year many universities conducted entrance tests for the B.ed course. This course is mainly for those students who want to pursue their career in teaching.was started in 2004 in Shri Ram College with its establishment. Bachelor of Education is a two-year course and affiliated to CCS University Meerut and approved by NCTE. It is an annual program and has been designed on the current guidelines of NCTE, NCERT, UGC and MHRD with the view to make the student-teachers reflective practitioners. The program is comprised of three broad inter-related curricular areas:- Group (A) : Perspectives in Education : Core Courses (CC) Group (B) : Curriculum and Pedagogy : Pedagogy Courses (PC) Group (C) : Experiences for Enhancing Professional Capacities (EPC) Transaction of the courses is to be done using a variety of approaches, such as tasks and assignments, teaching, internship, camps, group discussion, seminar, interactions with community etc.

Objectives of Course

  1. To prepare dedicated teachers for improvement of the school education system in the country.
  2. To adopt modern techniques for teaching skill development.
  3. To train the student teacher towards achieving excellence on academic, social, mental, physical, moral, and cultural fronts.
  4. To provide opportunities to enhance their competence and knowledge construction abilities in creating positive learning atmosphere in schools.
  5. To sensitize the stakeholders on the issues related to environmental protection

Course Eligibility

Admission shall be open to those candidates who have passed their Bachelor’s Degree and / or Master’s Degree with 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) in any discipline ie Arts, Science, Commerce etc

For admission in B.Ed course, candidates have to appear for entrance examinations organized by various institutions or colleges of India.

After earning B.Ed degree, you will be eligible to get job in secondary and higher secondary schools. After pursuing B.Ed candidate will get offered a teaching job as a permanent, temporary, part-time or full-time as per candidate’s interest. With B.Ed degree candidate can work in Schools, Education Department, Coaching Centers, Education consultancies, home and private tuitions, etc. Apart from teaching in schools, candidate can open thier own coaching institutions where candidate can provide tuitions to the students. This will only improve your teaching skills and knowledge but also enable to earn more. You can also work as academic content writer or academic counselors.

Master of Education

About the course

M.Ed or Master of Education is a 2 year post graduate degree. It is affiliated to MSU University, Saharanpur and approved by NCTE. M.Ed is the short form for Master of Education, which is typically a two-year or four-semester course dealing with the pedagogical aspects of teaching. The M.Ed course covers areas like curriculum and instruction, counseling, school psychology, and administration. A 2-year course has to be completed in maximum four years.

Course Objectives

This course is designed to introduce the fundamentals of communication and mass communication. The study of this course will help the students to understand the process of communication, Mass Communication and related theories and models of communication.

Course Eligibility

The students who have completed their Graduation from any of the recognized Universities in any of the streams of Science, Commerce or Arts are eligible to apply for the course. The qualification must be obtained with a minimum of 45% marks Gen/OBC and 40% for SC/ST.
