International Yoga Day

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, various programs were organized in different colleges of Shri Ram Group. In which a one-day workshop based on "Yoga Science and Pranayama" was organized in Shri Ram College of Engineering, a unit of Shri Ram Group of Colleges, Muzaffarnagar. The objective of the workshop was to introduce the participants to the scientific approach of yoga and pranayama and to highlight the importance of yoga in their lives. A special yoga session was organized in Shri Ram College of Pharmacy. The yoga program was jointly organized by the Physical Education Department of Shri Ram College and Shri Ram College of Law. The program was conducted by International Yogacharya Aman Rohal ji, it started with the chanting of Om and Surya Namaskar.

Today, on the occasion of International Yoga Day, a one-day workshop based on "Yoga Science and Pranayama" was organized in Shri Ram College of Engineering. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. M.K. Taneja, Yogacharya Sanjeev Shankar, Dr. Kirtivardhan, Director of Shri Ram Group of Colleges Dr. S.N. Chauhan and Director of Fine Arts Dr. Manoj Dhiman by lighting the lamp.

Dr. M.K. Taneja (Yoga Expert and Health Scientist), Shri Sanjeev Shankar (Yoga Trainer and Spiritual Thinker) and Dr. Kirtivardhan experts elaborated on the scientific basis of yoga, the role of yoga in physical and mental health and the methods of Pranayama.

On this occasion, Sanjeev Shankar conducted a practical demonstration of various Pranayama techniques, in which Bhastrika, Anulom-Vilom, Kapalbhati etc. were prominent. Along with the scientific explanation of Yogasana, Dr. Taneja informed the participants about the benefits of regular yoga practice and said that yoga is a science and cannot be confined to the boundaries of any caste, religion or country. Whoever performs yogic activities will definitely get benefits.

Received virtual blessings from Dr. S.C. Kulshreshtha, Chairman, Shri Ram Group of Colleges, that yoga is not just exercise, but a complete lifestyle that establishes physical, mental and spiritual balance.

On this occasion, Prof. S.N. Chauhan, Director, Shri Ram College of Engineering said that yoga is a step from the ephemeral world to the eternal. We should include yoga in our lifestyle so that the body can be kept healthy.

Director Engr. Ruchi Rai had a special contribution in conducting the program smoothly and making it successful. Along with this, teachers like Dr. Manoj Dhiman, Engr. Richa Gola, Engr. Pinky Pal, Engr. Indu Chauhan, Engr. Nishu Bhardwaj and Engr. Abhishek Kumar had a significant contribution in this program.

At the same time, International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and dedication in Shri Ram College of Pharmacy. On this occasion, a special yoga session was organized in the college campus.

Yoga Guru Dr. Devam Sharma and Dr. Payal Gautam were the chief guests in this yoga session, and while praising the campaign of Shri Ram College of Pharmacy to spread awareness about yoga among the students, they said that such efforts lead the young generation towards a healthy, balanced and positive life. He congratulated the college administration and all the participants for this successful event. Dr. Devam Sharma told that yoga works on all the muscles of our body and today there are about several lakh yoga practitioners all over the world.On this occasion, Dr. Payal Gautam also told the students that this is an ancient Indian knowledge which originated about five thousand years ago, the oldest evidence of yoga has been found from the Indus Valley Civilization.

Students, teachers and staff members participated enthusiastically in this program. All the participants present practiced various yoga postures like Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Bhujangasana, Trikonasana, Kapalabhati and Anulom-Vilom.

During this entire yoga session, Dr. Girendra Kumar Gautam, Director of Shri Ram College of Pharmacy, while addressing the students, said that yoga is the jewel of our country and the whole world knows this. That is why India is also called the yoga guru.

Sandeep Kumar, Dr. Ramdutt Sharma, Sabia Parveen, Tinku Kumar, Lokesh Kumar, Jyoti Jain, Akshita, Avi Dubey, Aarti Garg, and Mussayab Khan, Mohan Kumar, Sagar Kumar, Arshad etc. contributed significantly in making this program successful.

The program was conducted by International Yogacharya Aman Rohal ji, it started with the chanting of Om and Surya Namaskar, the Yogacharya informed that yoga makes the body healthy and energetic, and yoga practice helps in bringing the mind, body and soul together. Yoga is not only a physical exercise but also a mental and spiritual process. Youths should practice yoga regularly which will protect their bodies from diseases and with regular practice, they will focus on their studies and will be able to prepare for competitive exams with concentration. The Yogacharya made the students practice various yoga asanas which included Tadasana, Vrijasana, Padmasana, Pranayama etc. of Surya Namaskar.

On this occasion, Head of the Physical Education Department Pramod Kumar and lecturers Bhupendra Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, Prashant Kumar, Tarun, Vishwadeep Kaushik and lecturers of Shri Ram College of Law, Shri Sanjeev Kumar were present.
