The Faculty of Agriculture and Computer Applications at Shri Ram College, under the auspices of the Department of Agriculture and Employment, Muzaffarnagar (Government of Uttar Pradesh), organized a career counseling program for educated youth on the topic "Unlocking Your Potential: A Guide to Career Success." This program was part of the 25-day Rural Youth Skill Development Program. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Pramod Sirohi, Deputy Director of Agriculture, Muzaffarnagar; Mrs. Parul Singhal, Employment Officer; Dr. Ashok Kumar, Institute Director; Dr. Prerna Mittal, Principal of Shri Ram College; Dr. Vineet Kumar Sharma; Nishant Rathi, Dean of Computer Applications, and Dr. Mohammed Naeem, Chairperson of the Agriculture Department.
The program included key experts Dr. Sonali Singh, District Assistant Employment Officer; Mr. Tarun Pal, Senior Lecturer, Hindustan; Mr. Aryan Raj Kaushik, Chief Counselor, and others who provided guidance on the future of the youth. Dr. Sonali Singh told the youth that "Unlocking Your Potential: A Guide to Career Success" is a comprehensive information resource designed to help people identify their strengths, set realistic goals, and develop strategies to achieve their professional dreams. The guide emphasizes self-awareness, continuous learning, and courage as essential for unleashing hidden talents and maximizing career growth. Whether you're just starting out or looking to advance, it offers practical advice, motivational insights, and actionable steps to help you strengthen your journey toward a fulfilling and successful work life.
In his lecture, Aryan Raj Kaushik discussed the importance of career counseling for graduate students, emphasizing the specific challenges they face and their stages of development. It emphasizes the role of a career counselor in fostering self-awareness, exploring diverse career options, including academic, industry, entrepreneurship, and non-traditional paths, and developing essential skills such as resume writing, interview techniques, and networking. The session discusses various counseling strategies, including individual sessions, group workshops, and the use of technology, as well as challenges such as balancing goals and managing uncertainty. Practical case studies and success stories illustrate effective approaches. The lecture concludes by emphasizing the importance of ongoing support, mentorship, and proactive career planning, along with providing resources for further guidance.
Mr. Tarun Pal, Senior Lecturer at Hindustan, explained that improving study habits is crucial for graduate students' career success. Key strategies include setting goals, creating a balanced study schedule, managing time effectively, using active learning techniques, utilizing resources, improving research skills, networking, seeking feedback, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, staying motivated, developing soft skills, and planning for career growth.
