Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.- Baccalaureus Scientiae in Latin) is an undergraduate degree course usually of three years duration. It is one of the most popular course choices among Science students after Intermediate. The full form of B.Sc. is Bachelor of Science. The course is considered as a foundation course for students who want to make their career in the field of Science. It is offered in a variety of Science subjects at a majority of universities in India & other countries.

A B.Sc. course can be pursued as both a full-time or part-time course. Students can choose to pursue a General B.Sc. or B.Sc. (Honours). The course is most apt for students who have a strong interest and background in Science. The course is also beneficial for students who wish to pursue multi and inter-disciplinary science careers in future.

A B.Sc. programme can be further classified into two categories – B.Sc. Honours and B.Sc. General or Pass. The former focuses on one major subject area. Duration of Course: The B.Sc. programmes are of three years duration. The pedagogy of B.Sc. programme is a combination of theory and practical lessons. The B.Sc. curriculum includes practical lessons which carry a considerable amount of weightage. To pass a year students need to pass both the theory as well practical exams.

Course Eligibility: The students who have completed their 10+2 studies from any of the recognized institutes in Biology streamof Scienceare eligible to apply to the course. The qualification must be obtained with a minimum of 45% marks.
